An Optical Poem

The object of today's assignment was to watch 'An Optical Poem, by Oskar Fischinger, without succumbing to a stroke.
All jokes aside, this short, for a lack of a better term -'music video', is a collection of colors that are carefully chosen and portrayed, tickling the eye with every coming spectacle.
There are no live actors. Everything is expressed with motion, foreground, middle ground, and background - and rather a lot is accomplished.
Lastly, it reminds me of the Ratatouille scenes, where the main character tastes foods and then becomes privy to a shower of shapes and colors in his mind. Also, the animated music video from the early 2000's that became quite popular, "Pipe Dream".
I can only assume it is a direct influence to both.
